Combining a host of McAfee's most popular utilities, Internet Security Suite 2004 is sold as a complete Internet protection package and, by including full versions of Virusscan and Personal Firewall Plus, it carries some pretty heavyweight titles.

All the utilities can be installed at once, then the setup wizard takes you through the basics. You should find that, after just 10 minutes, you've created a decent barrier between you and the net nasties. As with any such utility, it's important to make sure you don't have any similar products running elsewhere, otherwise you'll run into problems.

The Security Center provides you with access to all the utilities, designed in a way that's easy to navigate. A brief overview of your PC's security status is displayed in the My Security Center window, including which utilities are currently installed and enabled. If you suspect something is being blocked without reason, each utility can be disabled at the click of a button.

The Personal Firewall Plus section allows you to configure your firewall to suit your needs. The summary page gives an overview of any prevented attacks. Meanwhile, the Privacy Service tool rids you of spyware, as well as giving you control over cookies and pop-up ads, while Spamkiller help you sort out your inbox.

Internet Security Suite 2004 houses some impressive utilities, but we feel the interface needs some reorganisation, as unnecessary windows can pop up when using the menus. However, it's reasonably priced and does a good job of keeping your PC from harm.
