Trustix Personal Firewall 2.0

This firewall has some extra features.

Trustix Personal Firewall doesn't have the best-looking of interfaces but it is pretty simple to use, and comes with some features not usually found in firewalls.

Among these features are a pop-up blocker and a spyware removal tool, both of which do their job well.

The pop-up blocker provides an option for listing certain websites on which you want to view pop-ups. The spyware tool scans your hard drive(s) for spyware and removes any finds. The scan can be set to occur at regular intervals or activated manually.

This software is competent enough, but it may not have all the features a more advanced user would want. After installation you are asked if you want to allow access to any program that attempts to connect to the internet.

The NetLock feature blocks all incoming and outgoing traffic completely, although individual programs can be set to bypass this.

For those moments when you simply want to appear invisible online, a stealth mode can be activated to hide your tracks.

A list of banned websites can be set up to prevent any application, not just your browser, from accessing them.

Annoyingly, you must register your details and wait for a licence to be emailed to you before you can use this demo.
