MediaPortal is an Open Source application ideal for turning your PC / TV into a very advanced Media Center. MediaPortal allows you to listen to your favourite music and radio, watch and store your videos and DVDs, view, schedule and record live TV as a digital video recorder. You get MediaPortal as Open Source software. This means you can help in developing MediaPortal or tweak it for your own needs with lots of plugins.

In this latest release, further changes have been done mainly to the music section in which the database is almost a complete rewrite. Inspired by MeediOS we simplified the database layout but also improved its performance. And when you're done with scanning your music shares you might enjoy the new grabber for artist images and album covers which has been added to the audioscrobbler plugin.

Note that this is the official Release Candidate of Media Portal 1.0 and is the official download from the MediaPortal site. MediaPortal 2.0 Preview is also available from the software supplier's website, if you want an early preview of the next version.
