Procter & Gamble is
implementing a service-oriented architecture system to improve accessibility of
data and files.
A new online workspace includes a security module to protect information and
a service platform to allow data from a variety of sources to be accessed on
demand.
With the new system, the business aims to improve and support decision making
while increasing access to knowledge assets.
“Our vision is a fundamental transformation of the way we operate, using
innovative technologies to help us work smarter, faster and more efficiently,”
said Procter & Gamble’s chief information and global services officer
Filippo Passerini.
"And the new platform is an important contributor to that vision," he said.
The online workspace, provided by
BEA Systems, has initially
been rolled out to 2,000 users and Procter & Gamble is now targeting an
additional 30,000 licences.
