Blaze TrayAudio is the little sister to Blaze Media Pro, offering similar audio functionality but without taking up anywhere near the same amount of system resources.
TrayAudio supports the most popular audio formats, including MP3, MP2, CD Audio, Active Streaming Format (asf), wav, Audio Interchange Format (aif, aiff), mid, midi, rmi, Macintosh Sound Resource, and audio playlists among other variations and less common formats. If you have RealPlayer installed, you can play this format via Blaze TrayAudio.
Like most audio players, you can choose to play single or multiple files, or create and save playlists for use within TrayAudio or other players. Tunes can be played at random, including playlists, and the loop function maintains continuous play of the selected tracks.
Not only is TrayAudio's use of system resources small, it is also physically small, making use of a retractable window for viewing and editing the playlist: this window is accessed via a button on the main interface. Every button is clearly labelled and laid out in a sensible manner to facilitate quick use of the software.
You can choose to minimise the player to the taskbar or system tray when active, or it can be kept 'always on top'. When in the 'always on top' mode, there is slight problem with drag (i.e. you move the player and you get multiple versions of the player). This is corrected as soon as it stops moving, however.
Unlike most other players we have come across, Blaze TrayAudio does not pause or jump tracks when opening or switching between applications, keeping your enjoyment of the music at a maximum.
