Apple has published a workaround for an issue with the latest upgrade of its OS X operating system.
The glitch prevented some users from running Java applications, and caused problems for Apple's Safari browser when visiting websites using Java.
Affected users have to manually download and install a Java update and a security update that was issued earlier this year, according to the company's website.
The 10.3.9 upgrade is the last version of OS X before the company unveils the next version of its Tiger operating system on 29 April.
